As you may know, Fogbugz On Demand is changing with a major overhaul of the interface and user experience. They started from scratch to make the case list and case page as fast as possible in a new "Performance Upgrade UI". The new UI is currently optional, and details are available on Fog Creek's support site.
This is a good thing and shows a commitment to FogBugz by Fog Creek. Unfortunately, the change involves the removal of APIs from Fogbugz which previously allowed plugins to interact with the case page. This means that we will not be able to offer the Creately plugin to FogBugz On Demand users in the new UI. We have been speaking to Fog Creek, but at this stage they have no plans to introduce a new API call to replace the missing one the Creately plugin requires. See Fog Creek's post on plugin deprecation on their support site.
This means that after your Fogbugz account moves to the new interface, you'll lose the ability to edit Creately diagrams from within FogBugz On Demand. Your current diagrams linked to cases will still be viewable (though wiki images – shown via a different mechanism – will be hidden). This change is obviously disruptive and because of this Fog Creek has agreed to maintain the old interface for Fogbugz On Demand until at least 1 November 2014 to allow for migration of diagram data.
This change also means that we will not be developing the Creately for Fogbugz On Demand plugin any further and there will be no further releases of it to the Fogbugz On Demand system. The plugin will cease operation on 1 November 2014 and be removed from the the Fogbugz On Demand system at that point. It may be removed earlier if all users have migrated before that date.
We have worked out a path to transition your diagrams from FogBugz On Demand to Creately Online so that you can continue to edit them. At this stage we would like to offer all current Creately for FogBugz On Demand subscribers and those trialing the plugin a free 6 month Team plan to match the size of your current On Demand user base. After the 6 months you'll be able to subscribe to the Creately Online Team plan of your choice. You should contact us before 1 May 2014 to activate this offer and begin the transition to Creately Online - just email email@example.com when ready.
With your permission, we'll work with Fog Creek to extract your current diagrams from your FogBugz database and import them into Creately Online. Once imported, you'll be able to edit them and embed the diagram images back into your FogBugz cases and wiki pages.
This forum article describes how to embed the diagram image from Creately Online so that updates to the diagram in Creately Online automatically appear in the case or wiki page.
Note that this change does not affect running Creately for FogBugz plugin on your own server.
