Data residency for Creately allows users to decide the regional server where their data should be stored.
You are able to store your Creately data in one of three regions around the world. These regions are the United States (US), European Union (EU), and Australia (AU). The default location to store your user data is the US region. You can change the default region when you first sign up with Creately.
Why Do You Need a Regional Server?
- Your data will be exclusively stored and processed in the region of your choice, adhering to local regulations such as the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- As a consumer, you will have more control over your data and can ensure it stays within the preferred legal jurisdiction. This helps protect the data from potential foreign government access or data privacy laws outside your country.
- Having data centers closer to your geographical location can result in reduced latency and faster access times, especially for real-time data processing related to visual collaboration.
Data Residency for Creately Users
For New Users
New users can select a region when they sign up with Creately. By default, all user data will be stored in the US region.
Creately users operating from the EU, AU, and US regions have the benefit of choosing to store and host their data locally. Opting for local storage ensures that customer data remains within the selected region or country.
For Existing Users
All the existing users’ data is set to be stored and processed in the US region. Existing Creately users do not have the option to manually change the regional server where their data is stored and processed. Therefore, if you wish to change the regional server, you may create a new account by selecting the relevant region or contacting Creately Support through support@creately.com.
