In a Creately Team Plan, each team member is assigned a specific role. You can be an Admin, a Member, or the Owner within the team.
But why do you need to specify these roles? You can read about that in this article: User roles and permissions inside Creately Team plans
Owner does not only own the account and carry out all functions but is the one who pays for the account as well. Owner is responsible for allowing users to access Creately by providing access to the Team plan, managing billing and handling upgrades and downgrades of the team subscription plan.
How to change the Owner role?
Owner cannot be changed at your end. For this, the current Owner will need to open a support ticket with the following details (click here to open a ticket)
- Consent of the existing Owner to change the role of the requested user
- Email address of the new Owner that you wish to nominate (please make sure the new nominee to the Owner position is a member or an Admin on your team plan)
Please note that the billing will also be assigned to the new Owner. You cannot assign billing to another person/user.
FAQ
Can the Owner access everyone's workspaces and folders within the team?
No, workspaces/folders can only be accessed by the creator of the workspace/folder, unless they share it with the Owner.
Can we have two or more Owners in a team?
Not at the moment, as this is not allowed on Creately. There could only be one Owner. However, you can assign Admin roles to more than one user. Admins can carry out most of the functions as listed in this article.
