We have seen a few support requests regarding this matter. With this article, we will address a couple of requirements raised along with the workarounds.
Creately Desktop subscription requires an email address in order to set up the account and purchase a license key to activate it on the desktop app. Therefore, the one who's setting up the account and purchasing the license key will eventually claim the ownership of the desktop account and the license key. In some cases, this will not be the ideal scenario for you. In situations like the ones below, you may need to change the account and license ownership.
- Purchasing the Desktop license by your employer
- Purchasing the Desktop license through a reseller
In such cases, the authorized person could be your organization or you're coming through a reseller to make the purchase. Since you're the end-user, you have to transfer the account and the license key to yourself in order to activate it on your pc/laptop. In the transfer process, you will only be able to transfer the account ownership and the license ownership, but not the payments or billing details.
How do I make the account transfer?
The account transfer can be done by simply opening a support ticket by the purchaser of the Desktop subscription with the following details,
- The email address used to purchase the license
- The license key
- The email address of the end-user
Please note the end-user has to be registered and own an account with a Free plan in Creately to do the account change.
